1. How long do you support users of the previous versions and provide free updates?
We guarantee lifetime support and lifetime free updates for all v1.0 - 1.5 buyers.
However we reserve itself the right to change this policy for buyers of later versions.

2. The program doesn't view some AI files. Why?
The app v1.0-1.2.2210 displays the built-in thumbnails for AI v7-CS2 and AIT v10-CS2 files only.
The built-in thumbnails in AI files appeared since version 7. However some v7-CS2 files don't contain the built-in thumbnails.
Such files is exported usually from other applications (e.g. CorelDRAW).
If you have Adobe Illustrator 10+ you can use our free batch converter.
It will transform the files of any version to files v7-CS2 with built-in thumbnails.
The app v1.2.2220+ displays the built-in thumbnails for AI v7-CS3 and AIT v10-CS3 files. Except the built-in thumbnails in AI7 format,
the program can display the built-in thumbnails in AI CS2 format. Thumbnails in AI CS2 format have the size up to 256x256x24
(in 4 times more than thumbnails in AI7 format). These thumbnails can contain in AI v9+ and AIT v10+ files saved in Adobe Illustrator CS2/CS3.
STTEX v1.5 can show magnificent (up to 600x600 pixels) thumbnails
for AI (and AIT) files all versions (including CS3) by using CorelDRAW 12+ and/or Ghostscript. Ghostscript is free for end users, CorelDRAW is commercial.
With Ghostscript STTEX 1.5 can display generated thumbnails for AI files v7-CS3 (the files v10-CS3 must be PDF compatible).
The next version (1.6) will be capable to display the generated thumbnails for AI files v3-CS3.
Nevertheless PDF incompatible files v10-CS3 and AIT files will not be displayed (will be displayed the built-in thumbnails only).
With CorelDRAW 12-X4 the app can display all types of the AI (and AIT) files already now without
any conversion and save the generated thumbnails to internal database (unfortunately some separate files CorelDRAW engine
is not capable to process).
Since v1.5 build 1080, the app can display the built-in thumbnails in CS2 format also.

3. My ST Thumbnails doesn't view some EPS files. Why?
Please upgrade ST Thumbnails to v1.5. This version displays any pixel-based EPS files
and the built-in previews/thumbnails (if its exist) for others (general postscript) EPS files.
You can use our free batch converter for conversion
any EPS files to the displayed form. Besides, if you install
Ghostscript (it is free for end users),
v1.5 will display all EPS files.
If Ghostscript v7.00+ is installed and some EPS files not are displayed as thumbnails
your files are wrong/corrupted with a high probability.

4. I want to see all pages of the PDF files. My ST Thumbnails show the first 10 pages only. Can it be corrected somehow?
Of course. Please click in main menu Tools|Options|File Formats and enter 0 into
"Multi-page mode: Extract up to XX thumbnails for PS/PDF files" edit box
(this setting determines displaying of the PRN files also).
Besides, it is necessary to set "Display All File Pages" mode on the toolbar.

5. I would like to know why my ST Thumbnails 1.2 doesn't read CPT files.
Probably you use ST Thumbnails of version 1.2.2135 or lower:
- V1.2 - 1.2.2135 display CPT thumbnails only if Corel Thumbnails Handler shell extension is installed.
- V1.2.2140 - 2260 display the built-in thumbnails for CPT files v7+ and
generates thumbnails for CPT files v5-6 without use Corel Thumbnails Handler.
- V1.5 has the same CPT features as V1.2.2260. Besides this version can use installed CorelDRAW 10+ for generation
of the big quality CPT thumbnails.

6. My ST Thumbnails doesn't view CorelDRAW X4 CDR files. Will you support these files?
Corel uses new file structure for CDR, CDT, PAT and CSL files in CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4.
Some changes have been made and in CPT file structure.
Now the app already support CorelDRAW X4 CDR, CDT, PAT, CPT, and CSL v.5.0 files (it doesn't require CorelDRAW X4 installation).
Therefore, please update your STTEX version up to STTEX 1.2.2260 and/or
STTEX 1.5 Beta build 1120 (or newer if it is available).
For these formats, the app provides displaying of the thumbnails for all file pages, displaying the metadata (keywords, notes,
fonts, etc.) and entire file texts (up to 20 first strings maximally).

7. ST Thumbnails 1.2 doesn't display CGM thumbnails. That would sure be a great one to add.
V1.5 can use external engines (now Ghostscript, CorelDRAW 10+ and MS Office 2003+ Document Imaging)
for thumbnails extract (please note, external engines are used in "External Extract" mode only).
If CorelDRAW 10+ is installed, v1.5 will can generate thumbnails for CGM files (and then display
these thumbnails for all modes).
Except it, this version can generate thumbnails with CorelDRAW engine for the following types:
CDR, CMX, CDT, PAT, CCX, CLK, AI,
AIT, FH7, FH8, FT8, CPT, DES, CSL, DSF, DRW, DS4, WPG, CPX, CDX, SVG, SVGZ,
PCT, PICT, DXF, DWG, PLT, HGL, FMV, GEM,
PIC, VSD, MET, NAP, PPF, FPX, SCT, CT, IMG, PP4, PP5, MAC, CAL, WI, WVL, XPM, XCF, RIF and SHW.
Please note, some listed formats cannot be supported by the installed CorelDRAW version.
Except it, CorelDRAW can process not all files of the given type.

8. Will your program suggest keyword-based search for CDR, CMX, CCX, etc. files?
Yes. Now we develop the Search component. Except for keywords and notes search, this component will provide
the search on XMP, IPTC, Exif, and Adobe IRB metadata sets, just as on entire file text for CorelDRAW X4 CDR,
MDI, and some other file types. This very big work, but we hope that we will make it the nearest 2-3 months.

9. Can your software support CRW RAW files?
Unfortunately the application now doesn't support CRW RAW files. However we plan to support native
formats for many cameras within the nearest months (including Canon RAW CRW files).

10. Can your app support DDS files?
STTEX can display Dynamic Daylight Simulations (DDS) files,
if DDS Viewer is installed. DDS Viewer is free Shell extension from NVIDIA Corp.

The size of DDS thumbnails up to 300x300 pxs.
